The World of 27 shows how we embrace art, culture and design in daily life. Charmed by Alan's own recurring birthday number "27" throughout his career and life journey, The World of 27 is synonymous to the many identities Alan has as a designer, an artist, a collector, a trendsetting influencer and a devotee to sharing his design philosophy and life experiences to the next generation.
The World of 27 includes Gallery 27, Salon 27 and Kyoto 27.
GALLERY 27
An exhibition space in Wanchai, Hong Kong devoted to discover and promote young and emerging designers, photographers, illustrators and artists from Hong Kong and neighbouring region - whose works reflect a strong influence from design.
SALON 27
In Quarry Bay Hong Kong, this 7000 sq.ft apartment-style private salon is curated by Alan where he exhibits over 400 pieces from his collection. The space features an interplay between works of art and interior décor, in combination with European furniture and fittings.
KYOTO 27
Kyoto 27 aims to promote arts and crafts in Kyoto through various art and cultural exhibition and events. Through supporting young generation in understanding and preserving Kyoto’s rich heritage and fading craftsmanship, this can encourage communication between artists, craftsmen, university student and local communities. Hence, becoming an art and cultural destination in Kyoto for locals and overseas visitors.
